The literary genius Rabindra Nath Tagore is not only known for the incomparable contribution he has made to the Bengali and Indian literature but also for writing the National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, of India.
While, we all Indians love, cherish to sing Jana Gana Mana and feel grateful to Rabindra Nath Tagore, but we fail to remember how he wrote the national anthem of Bangladesh and also inspired the national anthem of Sri Lanka.
According to Wikipedia, Amar Sonar Bangla, the National Anthem of Bangladesh was written in the year 1905 and adopted as the National Anthem in the year 1971. People of Bangladesh continue to take as much pride in singing in Amar Sonar Bangla as we Indians when singing Jana Gana Mana.

Ananda Samarakoon was the individual who wrote the national anthem of Sri Lankan. He once visited India and went to a university established by Rabindra Nath Tagore. He experiences at the venue inspired him deeply, he went back to his country, which was then ruled by Britishers and composed the national anthem, which we know as “Sri Lanka Matha”.
Ananda Samarkoon contributed a lot to the musical influence in Sri Lanka and continues to inspire a lot of individuals in the country to take up music. Rabindra Nath’s Shantiniketan had diverse effects on Ananda, the influence was so deep that he decided to pursue music and ending up writing the national anthem for his country.
Rabindra Nath Tagore was once a literature genius but today he is the soul of National Anthem for two countries. Rabindra Nath Tagore’s words have given countries the requisite inspiration to do something for their countries.
