Priyanka Chopra In Kalpana Chawla’s Biopic
After her stunning performance in American series ‘Quantico’, Priyanka Chopra is back to Bollywood with a bang! Going by the news doing the rounds, Priyanka Chopra will be shortly seen playing Kalpana Chawla in the late astronaut’s biopic.
Priyanka Chopra, who will be soon gone back to Los Angeles for the promotion of her Hollywood debut flick ‘Baywatch’, is said to be very eager to play the role of this Indian origin astronaut who made the country proud by being the first Indian origin woman to go to space.
Kalpana Chawla, the late astronaut, who lost her life in 2003 on her second space expedition with six other astronauts in a tragic accident when her space shuttle ‘Columbia’ exploded on way back to earth from space, had won many awards for her hard-work and was an inspiration to many aspiring young Indian children.
This is going to be Priyanka Chopra’s second biopic after the one on Mary Kom and is under planning and process since last seven years. The movie is going to be directed by a débutante director Priya Mishra and produced by a new production house Getway, though it’s also heard that initially our own PeeCee was very much interested in making the film under her own production house Purple Pebbles.
Priyanka Chopra’s team is said to have been working on the biopic for last one year and is also said to have locked the script. It’s also heard that the film is to be mounted on an international scale.
